Alcohol and cigarettes will rise in price in Russia from 2026 due to an increase in excise taxes

From January 2026, another increase in prices for alcohol and tobacco products is expected in Russia. The Government of the Russian Federation has submitted to the State Duma a draft amendment to the Tax Code, providing for a significant increase in excise rates. Fees for still wines will jump most sharply, by 31%, which will primarily hit imported products. For sparkling wines, the growth will be 8.9%, and for beer, cider and mead - 10%.
