Cigarettes that 'heat without combustion' can in any way damage the heart
THURSDAY, October 22, 2020 (HealthDay News) -- Tobacco products that "heat without combustion," created as an alternative to other types of smoking, could cause damage to users' hearts, researchers report. These tobacco products, such as Philip Morris' IQOS, are advertised as substitutes for e-cigarettes or traditional ones. But a new review finds that they could be linked to damage to the heart and blood vessels. Researchers found that inhalants were linked to hypertension, reduced blood vessel dilation, hardening of arteries, increased heart rate, and reduced heart function.
