More than 75 million cigars seized by Customs
Figure. From July to the beginning of this month, the National Customs Authority (ANA) seized more than 76 million units of cigars from illicit trade, with a value that exceeds $28 million. According to Crisanta Quintero, one of the advisors of the ANA's superior office, this illegal merchandise was seized in 98 cases related exclusively to cigarettes. Last Friday, the ANA announced the retention of cigarettes valued at more than $300,000 at the Guabalá Checkpoint, in Chiriquí. For this case, there are two citizens under investigation.
