Who needs the patch? Colin Farrell has revealed the novel way he quit smoking - by writing the 'Spirit of Tobacco' a break-up letter. The 39-year-old actor, enjoying a career resurgence thanks to his critically praised role in True Detective, told the current issue of Men's Health that he stopped his nicotine habit successfully for two years after writing the letter. “I wrote a breakup letter to the Spirit of Tobacco. I got a frying pan and tossed the letter with a load of tobacco, put some paraffin over it, and lit a match that sent a big, wallowing cloud up into the sky.
