WHO report: 1 in 5 adults are addicted to tobacco Monday, 06 October 2025 07:36 PM The tobacco epidemic is still far from disappearing, and a new global report issued by the World Health Organization (WHO) shows that the number of tobacco users has fallen from 1.38 billion people in 2000 to 1.2 billion people in 2024, the World Health Organization said in a statement.
