Garfield parks are now smoke-free

All city public parks and facilities are now smoke free after the council unanimously adopted an ordinance amending the city code and banning smoking on city property. The ordinance was adopted at the March 12 council meeting. It states smoking will be prohibited in all public parks and recreation facilities owned or leased by the city and all property owned or leased by the city where the public is invited or individuals gather for recreation activities, including any parking areas or driveways.
