The price of a pack of cigarettes in Denmark may double
The Danske Regioner, an organization representing the interests of Denmark's public health authorities, called on the government this week to increase the average price of a pack of cigarettes from 40 to 80 kroner. In addition to raising the price of a pack of cigarettes to 80 kroner, Danske Regioner also wants stores to keep cigarettes out of sight of customers and hand them out at the checkout after customer request, as well as to ensure that all packaging is neutral and children and young people are prohibited from smoking during school hours, Jyllands-Posten notes today.
