IQOS tobacco heating systems have been banned from sale in the United States. The corresponding decision was made by the International Trade Commission (ITS) of the States. According to The Wall Street Journal, the reason for the ban was problems with the definition of intellectual property rights. The publication says that the competitor RJ Reynolds Tobacco sued Altria and Philip Morris, saying that they use its technology in the production of IQOS. Altria and Philip Morris deny Reynolds American's accusations. It is expected that the ban on the sale will come into force in two months, as the sanction of US President Joe Biden is needed.
