The Public Pulse: Smoking is distracting, expensive
This past summer, I worked with two people who smoked heavily. Their frequent smoke breaks distracted them from their work and annoyed other workers including me. Smoking is not only distracting to others, it is extremely expensive and dangerous. Buying a pack of cigarettes every day can cost over $2,000 a year, and future health care costs can set you back even more. Continued years of smoking can lead to respiratory problems and even lung cancer. Please find something else to spend your time and money on.
