PRICE ITEM 03.11.2025 - 20:00 The government aims for an additional revenue of 1.5 billion euros over the next three years through an increase in excise duties on tobacco. The executive led by Giorgia Meloni has included the measure among the main levers to finance the 2026 budget law, with direct effects on consumer prices as early as next year. According to estimates, a pack of cigarettes will cost 14-15 cents more in 2026, an increase that will also affect cut tobacco, cigarillos and heated products.
