From 4.60 to 7 euros per pack of cigarettes: how the European Commission directive is changing the tobacco market in Greece

According to the draft of the European Commission, the proposed increases in the minimum tax (up to +139%) could lead to a sharp increase in the price: in Greece, a pack of cigarettes could go up to 7 euros with the current average price of about 4.60 euros. At the same time, the introduction of a tax on tobacco will lead to an increase of 2-3 euros per package, and on electronic cigarettes - by about 1 euro.
