JT to raise prices for 24 cigarette brands by 20 yen from May due to soaring raw material prices
Japan Tobacco (JT) announced on March 3 that it has applied to the finance minister for a price increase for a total of 24 brands of cigarettes and heat-not-burn cigarettes. After approval, the price will be raised by 20 yen on May 1. The reason is the soaring cost of raw materials. The price of Camel Craft cigarettes will be raised from 430 yen to 450 yen for all 18 brands. The capsule-type heat-not-burn tobacco "Wiz" will be priced from 580 yen to 600 yen for all six brands.
