Kolhapur: Shahupuri police on Friday arrested a suspect involved in the illegal transportation of aromatic tobacco and gutka at Nagala Park in Kolhapur. The police seized items worth Rs 4 lakh from the accused. This includes tobacco and gutka worth Rs1.1 lakh and a four-wheeler. Shahupuri police inspector Ajay Sindkar said, "We received a tip-off that a car carrying banned gutka and aromatic tobacco was moving from the Kasba Bawda side. Accordingly, the police laid a trap and found the suspected car at Khanwilkar Petrol Pump Chowk. Valuables worth Rs1.1 lakh were found in the car.
