Scientists have found an easy way to quit smoking Scientists from the University of Innsbruck in Austria investigated how active walks can help people quit smoking and published the results in the journal Psychopharmacology. The study involved 16 smokers who had smoked at least 10 cigarettes a day over the past two years. Participants were divided into three groups: the first group took 10 minutes of brisk walks in the fresh air, the second group performed exercises on an indoor treadmill, and the control group simply sat for 10 minutes.
