Prices for tobacco products will “take off” following the new edition of the directive European Commission on taxation of tobacco products. According to project European Commission proposed increases minimum tax (to +139%) can lead to a sharp increase in price: in Greece a pack of cigarettes may arrive up to 7 euros at the current average price of about 4.60 euros. At the same time, the introduction of a tax on tobacco will lead to an increase for 2–3 euros per package, and on electronic cigarettes – approximately for 1 euro.
