Mexico Strengthens Ban on Smoking in Public Places
The 2008 rule in Mexico, which established smoke-free areas in restaurants and workplaces, has now been expanded to include a complete ban on all public areas. Parks, beaches, workplaces and restaurants all fall under this category. In addition, there is a complete ban on the advertising, marketing and sponsorship of tobacco products. The Pan-American Health Organization has hailed the Mexican government's decision to implement the ban.
