Vaping industry hits back at reports of new tax on e-cigs
The UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA) has written to the Treasury in response to reports suggesting that the government is considering introducing a new ‘sin tax’ on vaping products, which would reportedly raise additional tax revenue of £40m. A report in The Sun quotes Whitehall sources who say the e-cigarette industry could be one area that is targeted in this autumn’s Budget to raise money to fund the government’s £20bn National Health Service pledge.
