Cigarette Prices Increase Due to Excise Rate Increase
JAKARTA, Cobisnis.com – The increase in tobacco product excise (CHT) rates, which on average increased by around 10%, has been implemented by the government through Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) No 191/2022. In addition, in the policy, there is an increase in excise rates on other tobacco processing products, including e-cigarettes, by 15% in 2024. According to Chairman of the Indonesian White Cigarette Association (Gaprindo) Benny Wachyudi, the increase in cigarette excise has the potential to reduce sales this year.
