Commission approves rules for hookah trade in Brazil
The Committee on Industry, Commerce and Services of the Chamber of Deputies approved a bill that establishes rules for the sale and inspection of hookah products in Brazil. The proposal defines hookah as a "device for smoking tobacco, with or without flavor, which has a base with water, body, tobacco pot, plate and hose". The text maintains the prohibition on the sale of hookahs and related products to minors under 18 years of age. To ensure the age of the consumer, commercial establishments will have to ask for a photo identification document.
