Tobacco: here are the new prices of cigarette packs in France
Since 1 January, cigarette prices have risen sharply. For example, the €12 mark for a pack of cigarettes has been crossed for some brands. By 2026, the price of a package will reach 13 euros, the government said. These increases are intended to dissuade the French from smoking. According to Santé publique France, tobacco consumption (cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, rolling tobacco...) is responsible for more than 75,000 deaths per year in France.
