What replaces the restriction of tobacco use
In May 2022, The Lancet published a study confirming that tobacco control measures are ineffective in most countries of the world. As its authors, Robert Biaglehol and Ruth Bonita, have noted, globally the total number of tobacco users has barely changed, with only about 30% of countries currently on track to meet the WHO target of reducing adult tobacco use by 2030. The WHO itself admits failures.
