Smoking could be banned in city parks - Mount Airy News

Smoking in public buildings is now a thing of the past, and the ban also might soon be extended to Mount Airy’s public parks and other city-owned property. During a meeting today at 2 p.m., the Mount Airy Board of Commissioners will consider a new tobacco policy aimed at doing just that. City buildings and vehicles have been smoke-free for some time. Facilities such as Reeves Community Center and the public library and grounds also are tobacco-free and all school property has been that way since 2007.
