Rieti, smuggled cigarettes on the A1, Polstrada seizes over 5 thousand cartons
The Traffic Police of northern Rome carried out a maxi seizure of smuggled cigarettes on the A1 motorway, in the stretch of the province of Rieti. The operation took place at dawn on October 30 and led to the arrest of a truck driven by a foreign citizen. During a routine check, the agents found anomalies in the transport documents and contradictory answers from the driver about the contents of the vehicle. The search made it possible to discover 115 cartons full of cigarettes without the seal of the State Monopoly.
