31 May – World No Tobacco Day
In 1987, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared May 31 World No Tobacco Day, which today is part of the UN system of world and international days. Every year, WHO and its partners actively celebrate this day, which aims to raise awareness of the harmful and deadly consequences of tobacco use and secondhand smoke.
