Traditional cigarette prices on the rise for second time in 2025
Traditional cigarette smokers need to reach deeper into their pockets for the most popular brands of both Philip Morris USA and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. The list price hike was reported by Goldman Sachs analyst Bonnie Herzog. The list price is what wholesalers pay manufacturers for their traditional cigarette products. The increase typically is passed on to customers at retail. Prices rose, as of Sunday, by between 20 and 25 cents per pack by PMUSA, including top-selling Marlboro. Reynolds also has raised its prices, but Herzog did not list how much per pack.
